The Party committee of the China Foreign Trade Centre, the organizer of Canton Fair, met on Oct 17 to study President Xi Jinping’s congratulatory letter to the 130th session of the fair and Premier Li Keqiang’s keynote speech at the fair’s opening ceremony.
President Xi fully affirmed the significant contributions Canton Fair, officially known as the China Import and Export Fair, has made since its founding in 1957, participants noted.
They said the letter has entrusted the fair with a new historic mission.
They said Premier Li put forward requirements for the event’s role in serving China’s new development paradigm in his keynote speech and instructions on the fair.
“We will thoroughly implement the spirit of President Xi’s congratulatory letter and Premier Li’s important instructions, and strive to build Canton Fair into a vital platform for promoting China’s opening-up on all fronts, advancing the high-quality development of global trade and facilitating the “dual circulation” of domestic and overseas markets,” participants said.
